Posted onVerified We stayed for two nights at Buda's Homestay and it was one of the best places we've seen while traveling through Bali. After experiencing busy Buda, we were so thankful for living in the quiet, picturesque and peaceful village of Lemukhi. To be precise, we actually stayed at the "Friendly Homestay" which is directly next to Buda's place, but run by other members of his family. Anyway, he visited us every day and we were so happy about meeting everyone who lives there. They were all extraordinarily funny, generous and communicative. The small huts were clean and furnished with the basics. We didn't miss a thing. The trip to the amazing Sekumpul Waterfall was our best day in Bali. Buda and his crew took really good care of us. Definitely a recommendation. Hope to come back!Posted onVerified Words cannot describe my stay here. It was so peaceful to sit and look upon the rice terrace, hear the birds and walk to the river. Buda’s wisdom and tour to the waterfalls was an unforgettable experience. The accommodation has everything you need, a large room, porch, sitting areas. The running water is cold but you don’t care when the view is unbeatable! Buda’s wife is an excellent cook and his children are lovely. If you’re looking to experience true Bali, this is where you go.Posted onVerified Buda‘s Homestay is quite famous on several webpages like indojunkie etc. and in the village of Lemukih as well. And is famous for several reasons! First one is Buda himself. He will help you out with everything from how to get to his home to what is the best way to explore the surroundings if his homestay. Secondly this accomodation is wonderful located in magnificent ricefields and in near to the famous Semkupul and Fiji Warerfalls. Third there is plenty of good food to get in the homestay from breakfast to dinner it is absolutely outstanding and prices are below the normal Bali Level. To sum up: for us the north of Bali especially the the surroundings of Lemukih are the most beautiful and authentic sights of Bali and Buda’s homestay is the best location to explore this area. Also treat yourself to a massage if you get the chance!Posted onVerified This place is perfect for spiritual nature lovers. For people, who are not looking for luxuries, but rather for a break from a city life. Buda’s home stay is placed in the edge of a small village an small family run rice fields. It is a 10 minute motorbike ride from the entrance to a famous local waterfall. Please note that there is not even one restaurant around, or any minimart store. Buda’s cousin cooks for the guests. Traditional local breakfast is included in the price and dinner when requested on an extra price. The surroundings are very beautiful and green. Buda offers himself as a guide to see the local waterfalls and rice terraces in a good price. I highly recommend to opt for the trip with Buda, who is very professional and caring. ‘Safety first’ rule is his motto. But also he makes sure that his guests are relaxed and happy. I much enjoyed the trip, where we were provided a motorbike, but another family was driven to the entrance of the waterfalls so it is suitable for non-drivers and children. Buda was very caring especially towards the 2 young kids who joined us on this trip. He held the younger one’s hand whenever the hike was getting challenging. I felt like a child myself haha, because everything was looked after so I did not have to worry about anything, for example leaving my bag when going to swim in the waterfalls. Also Buda joined swinging me on an enormous swing spread between two palm trees in the rice paddies. Whoa! This was worth the discounted price that I spend on the swing. All professionally secured and safe of course. So as you can see, Buda’s home stay comes as a package of options for his guests. We used our stay to the maximum, including using the spa run within the household. It was an amazing end to our stay, especially that I was really surprised by the professionalism, quality and a high standard of the massage and body scrub that I went for. The bungalow that we stayed had a bathroom and toilet in the same room and no hot water. However, the spa next door has hot water and (I could not believe) a ???? bathtub that I could use after the body scrub. Beautiful paddy rice view was a cherry on the top. Buda and his brother Domi (who has another home stay next door, if you are a bigger group you may stay next to each other) are amazing hosts and they provided us with lots of interesting facts about their village and its ancient philosophy that the community lives by. I was touched by the way they treat each other and their guests. I will definitely come back on the first possible opportunity. One more tip, take earplugs with you, because there is a road nearby and the noise is possible to hear inside at early times of the day.
